Best Brunch in San Diego

If you’re lucky, you can even spot sea lions lounging in the Californian sunshine. ☀ With so many ways to spend an afternoon, this is one of the best spots to take photos and enjoy the views. As a cultural hub and vibrant mix of historic, Spanish architecture and glittering high-rises, the streets are as entertaining as they are beautiful.

The food here is pretty good, however I ordered the wrong thing. My wife had an amazing meal, but I felt like I definitely ordered the wrong thing, the breakfast biscuit. Regardless the food was good, but I definitely would’ve ordered differently. The fried chicken was alright but it was a fried breast, so it was a thick piece of fried chicken.
Anza-Borrego Desert State Park
Surfers flock to Swamis when the waves are good, but at low tide, it’s the perfect spot for those who seek out little sea creatures hidden in the rocks. Of course, photos from the cliffs are spectacular as well. I recommend getting there early to find parking and scope out your favorite shot before the sun begins to set. Piers are some of the best photo spots in San Diego — especially Scripps Pier in La Jolla. I like to play around with long exposures, especially when there are people walking along the pier. The Torrey Pines Gliderport is the most historic aviation site in North America and it’s is one of my all-time favorite places to take photos in San Diego.
The 12 Best Places to Camp in California (
For some of the best views of the San Diego Skyline and Coronado Bridge, I highly recommend taking this San Diego harbor cruise during your visit. I was born and raised in sunny Southern California and will never tire of the West Coast, although I spent several years living in Southeast Asia, about as far from California as you can get. Wherever I am in the world, I love straying from the beaten path, experiencing local life, and discovering hidden gems - camera in hand. The beach is my happy place and when I am not there (or writing), you will usually find me baking, watching movies, and cuddling my pugs. I have traveled around the country and around the world, and it never, ever gets old.
Balboa Park
Visit the Hash House A Go Go website to learn more or keep up with events, specials, and more by following Hash House A Go Go on Facebook. A filling brunch is a great way to fuel up to explore San Diego’s amazing Balboa Park just a few blocks away. Hillcrest has been dubbed the Greenwich Village of San Diego.
đ This is one of our favorite places to visit California’s history firsthand. Annual events such as Fiesta Old Town Cinco de Mayo, DĂa de los Muertos and 4th of July celebrations are beloved by locals and visitors alike. Hash House A Go Go is an insanely popular San Diego restaurant where there is a wait nearly every day, but especially during summer. For the sake of efficiency, you can leave your phone number with the host and receive a text when your table is ready. The in-demand restaurant does not take reservations, but you can call in for take-out, grab a hearty meal to-go, and head a few blocks to Balboa Park for a relaxing picnic. San Diego’s trendy Hillcrest neighborhood is the original location of the Hash House A Go Go franchise.
I have probably been there at least 100 times and it never gets old. This Alice in Wonderland-esque mall in downtown San Diego is just about the only mall I will visit. Not to buy things, but to marvel at the unique architecture. Keep in mind, they don’t allow tripods in this mall and security guards will get suspicious and ask you to leave if you look too much like a professional photographer. Another one of the best photography spots in San Diego is Point Loma. From the Point Loma neighborhoods, you can get some great photos of the marina with San Diego’s city lights in the background.

Feast On A Scrumptious Southern California Brunch That Has Won Dozen Of Awards
All commercial photography requires a permit, but you can take photos for free as long as it’s not for commercial purposes. Centennial Park in Coronado is located just off of the ferry landing and is the perfect spot at sunset! If the water is glassy, you’ll get the most amazing reflections of downtown San Diego. One of my favorite shots is from the San Diego harbor overlooking the buildings downtown — as pictured below. In recent years, brunch has earned its place as an actual meal, and if you are like me, one of our favorites.

Inside, tables are crammed together in a sea of neutral colors; gray metal backed chairs surround them. The space feels warm, comfortable, and lived in; guests are casually dressed, relaxed, and noisy, like a big family reunion where you don’t know your relatives, but feel like family anyway. All eyes are on the food here where heaps of “twisted farm food” grab up the attention. There are plenty more spots to photograph in San Diego but if you have limited time while visiting and you want to make sure you get some good pictures of San Diego, these places won’t disappoint.
Best of all, it’s only four blocks from Hash House A Go Go for a fantastic breakfast, lunch, brunch, or dinner. Hash House A Go Go has a familiar neighborhood ambiance that appeals to locals and tourists alike. The burgundy exterior is a modern twist on the timeless diner theme right down to the neon lighting and Hash House retro font.
Being able to combine my passion for travel and my love of writing is nothing short of a dream. Although Hash House A Go Go is best known for breakfast with giant pancakes, stacks of waffles, sage chicken, and hearty hashes, the menus are packed with “famous” entrĂ©es. One such lunch entrĂ©e is the one-pound stuffed burger in six different styles; for dinner Andy’s twisted stuffed burgers add three more choices.
Other Hash House traditions include chicken pot pie, “famous” meatloaf, and crispy pork tenderloin. You can still order breakfast off the dinner menu, including the Tractor Driver Combo – two eggs with bacon sausage or potatoes and a signature pancake with flavors like blueberry pecan and mango coconut. It’s a challenge for even the heartiest eater to finish one of these generously portioned meals, and nearly everyone leaves with leftovers, just like dining at Grandma’s house. We had the Sage fried chicken linguine, sage fried chicken and eggs, and the Andy's fried chicken. The other one with the melon slice was Andy's fried chicken Benedict.
